In a region defined by rapid development and evolving demands, staying ahead means more than just delivering equipment. It means showing up, building trust, and growing with the people and industries we serve.

At Genequip, every quarter is an opportunity to deepen relationships, explore new ground, and reaffirm our commitment to progress. As we look back on recent months, the stories that follow reflect how we continue to turn vision into action, guided by our values, shaped by our partners, and driven by purpose.

Expanding Horizons: Genequip Launches in Suriname

In a major milestone for the third quarter, Genequip officially expanded operations into Suriname, marking its entry into one of the region’s most promising industrial markets. The launch began with the introduction of Sandvik’s world-class portfolio - offering mining, construction, and drilling professionals in Suriname access to some of the most advanced tools and technologies in the industry.

As the authorized distributor of Sandvik in Guyana, Genequip brings a proven track record of product expertise, after-sales support, and technical training. That same commitment is now being extended to Suriname, starting with key offerings from Sandvik’s Rock Tools, Surface Drilling, and Underground Mining lines.

This strategic expansion reflects Genequip’s continued focus on regional growth, customer proximity, and operational excellence, ensuring clients across borders benefit from the same standard of support, reliability, and performance.

We look forward to building strong relationships in Suriname and driving innovation with partners who share our vision for innovation and sustainable development in the extractive sector.

Building Operators, Powering Progress

In July, the first batch of persons completed a Komatsu Equipment Operator Training for the Oko Gold Project, marking a strong start to a series of skills development initiatives for GMIN Ventures Guyana Inc.

Held over two intensive weeks at Genequip’s state-of-the-art Training Facility, the program focused on three key Komatsu machines: the WA470 Wheel Loader, PC500 Excavator, and HM400-3 MO Dump Truck. A total of 11 equipment operators and 3 mine trainers participated in hands-on sessions delivered by factory-certified instructors. The result? A measurable boost in safety, on-site efficiency, and operational confidence.

Later in the month, skill testing for Batch Two operators commenced as part of the next phase in the Komatsu Equipment Operator Training program. Operators demonstrated their proficiency on two critical machines: the Articulated Dump Truck and the Hydraulic Excavator. This evaluation stage played a vital role in identifying the most qualified candidates for the Komatsu Factory-Certified Training.

More than a test, this process reflects Genequip’s ongoing commitment to safety, efficiency, and operational excellence. Only the top-performing operators will advance, setting the standard for what it means to be Komatsu-trained. This is a testament to our committed objective of empowering our partners with not just world-class machinery, but the knowledge and skills to use it to their fullest potential.

Building Expo 2025: Connecting Through Innovation

Genequip returned to the International Building Expo at the Providence National Stadium in August, this time with a fresh approach. Our booth was designed as an interactive info hub, placing the spotlight on direct engagement with patrons and industry professionals.

Visitors had the opportunity to speak with our expert team, explore tailored equipment solutions, and learn more about the support services that set Genequip apart. The booth also featured a curated display of compact, high-demand products such as light towers and concrete mixers, ideal for contractors and builders looking for practical, high-performance tools.

Sales Manager, Nikita Whyte, was on the frontlines at the expo, as she underscored,

“We are recognized for agriculture and mining. That’s what people know us for. Over the years, we have grown into power generation, construction, marine and so much more. Because of construction and all the activities taking place in the economy right now, we just wanted people to be reminded that Genequip caters to these needs.”

This strategic presence allowed us to strengthen industry relationships, answer on-the-ground questions, and reinforce our commitment to helping Guyana build smarter, safer, and more efficiently.
